Capital City Race (CCR) is Nigeria's premier timed 10km road race, held annually in Ikeja, Lagos. It is a fully organised, chip-timed road race open to elite athletes, amateur runners and first-timers alike. CCR 2026 is the third edition, taking place on 21 November 2026.
The race takes place in Ikeja, Lagos — the capital of Lagos State. The course runs through Ikeja's major roads, including landmarks such as Opebi Bridge and Billings Way. The full course map will be published closer to race day.
The race distance is 10 kilometres (10km), fully measured and certified. The course is flat and road-runner friendly.
Yes. Every participant receives a timing chip with their race bib. Official finish times are recorded and published after the race.
Yes. CCR 2026 will offer prize categories for elite male and female finishers, as well as age-category awards. The full prize structure will be announced when registration opens.

Registration pricing will be announced when entries open. CCR offers individual entry, corporate team entry packages and community-supported entry options. Early registration is encouraged — places are limited.
Participants must be 16 years of age or older on race day, 21 November 2026. Runners aged 16–17 must have written consent from a parent or guardian.
The entry transfer policy will be confirmed when registration opens. Historically, CCR has permitted one-time transfers within a defined window before race day.
Every registered participant receives a race bib with timing chip, an official CCR race t-shirt, access to hydration stations on course, a finisher medal and access to the race village at the finish line.
Yes. If the race reaches capacity, a waiting list will be opened on the website. Priority will be given to waiting-list registrants if spots become available due to withdrawals.
Bib collection will take place at a designated venue in Ikeja in the days before the race. Exact dates, times and location will be communicated to all registered participants by email and on our social media channels.
Bib collection by a representative is permitted with a copy of the registered participant's ID and confirmation email.
Wear comfortable running clothes and your official CCR race t-shirt if you choose. Bring your race bib pinned to the front of your top, your timing chip and valid ID. Arrive at least 45 minutes before the start time.
Yes. A secure baggage storage facility will be available at the race village. Details will be included in your race information pack.
Yes. CCR 2026 will have hydration stations positioned at regular intervals along the course. Our hydration partner will be announced ahead of race day.
Marshal support and sweep vehicles will be available along the course. If you need to withdraw, notify a course marshal who will assist you safely off the course and back to the race village.
Absolutely. CCR is designed for everyone — from competitive athletes chasing personal bests to first-time runners completing their first road race. Many of our most memorable finishers have been people who never imagined they could run 10km. You have until November to prepare, and we will support you every step of the way.
If you are starting from little or no running base, 12–16 weeks of consistent training is enough for most people to comfortably complete 10km. CCR will publish a beginner training guide on the website ahead of race day.
Yes. The course will have a finish-time cut-off to ensure road safety and event logistics. The cut-off time will be communicated when race information is published. It is designed to be achievable for walkers and beginner runners.
Lagos has an active running-club community. CCR will publish a running-club directory on the website and host CCR-branded community training runs in the lead-up to race day through our Ambassador Programme.
