How Capital City Race collects, uses and protects personal information.
Last updated: 28 July 2026
Capital City Race (“CCR”, “we”, “us” or “our”) organises road races, training, community, volunteer, ambassador, media and corporate-wellness activities in Nigeria. For privacy enquiries, contact hello@capitalcityrace.com.
We may collect identity and contact information; registration and participation details; emergency contact, age category and health-related information you choose or are required to provide; payment and transaction references; employer or running-club information; volunteer, ambassador, media and partnership application information; photographs and recordings; website usage, device, cookie and technical information; and correspondence with CCR.
We process information to administer registrations and payments, deliver race and community services, communicate operational and safety information, manage timing and results, respond to enquiries, evaluate applications, protect participants and our systems, meet legal obligations, improve our services and, where permitted or consented to, send marketing communications.
Depending on the activity, processing may be necessary to perform an agreement with you, comply with law, protect vital interests, pursue legitimate organisational interests or act on your consent. Health information and other sensitive data receive additional safeguards and are used only where necessary for participation, safety, accessibility or legal purposes.
We may share relevant information with payment providers, timing providers, medical and safety teams, insurers, technology and hosting providers, communications providers, professional advisers, event venues, public authorities and contracted service providers. We do not sell personal information. Where information is transferred outside Nigeria, we use safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, legal, accounting, safety and dispute-resolution requirements. We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Requests can be sent to our contact email. We may need to verify your identity.
Our Cookie Notice explains website technologies. Participants below the legal age to provide valid consent must register or participate with permission and involvement from a parent or legal guardian. We may update this notice and will publish the revised date and material changes on this page.
Important: This document is a practical website policy prepared for CCR’s launch readiness. It should be reviewed by qualified Nigerian legal counsel before the website moves to production.
